A pretty hand-stitched scandi-style cushion cover. Totally my taste, but just doesn't suit our decor. It needs a zip adding, then it will be zipping over to England where I have a friend who will TOTALLY love it!
And have a look at this...
A map hanky!
I do love maps, atlases etc, but haven't got around yet to identifying where this is. All the places/identifiers are in a script. Any one recognise where this is?
A keeper, not just for it's mapness, but also cause I am a granny who actually uses cloth hankies!
I also found this...
Been looking for a vase to hold (strangely out of season) narcissis (spelling?) from my garden nicely.
This one is still not quite right, but very pretty anyway. Also a keeper.
And...
Interesting granny blanket of the line rather than squares variety.
I couldn't pass it up because it's very cool and was a total bargin but definatly not me. So if you'd like it, just leave a comment that allows me to find you: you don't have to follow and you can be from anywhere: and I'll draw a name next Sunday.
And if you'd like to win a granny-square pillow lookee over here at the beetle shack

I have a hankering for that hanky map!
ReplyDeleteI've never ever heard of a map hanky, looks awfully interesting yet I don't think I could bring myself to use it.....frame it or small cushion maybe.
ReplyDeleteHi Max, what lovely finds. Great hanky. The white jugs are a wonderful classic shape I have a couple & just love them. The "stars" a are wee bit early often closer to July, some of the narcissi flower in winter like your white ones often known as "paper whites" ( a friend whose father was a narcissis grower told me recently) snowdrops too & my sol d'or.. so it would seem. Love your Chitty Chitty Bang Bang further down the page too. Have a lovely week. Love Catherine
ReplyDeleteThat map hanky is fab! Scarlett x
ReplyDeleteVery cute finds. Lovely simple jug and that hanky - too cute:)
ReplyDeleteHi! Cool thrifty finds, the jug looks very pretty with the flowers in it, I especially love your granny blanket, I would love it! My local charity shops never seem to have any over here, and they remind me of my childhood. Bx
ReplyDeletethat map hanky is wonderful!
ReplyDeletei love everything here, some lovely pieces. the blanket is fantastic!!! and the cushion cover is gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteHey Max, Blogger has just let me comment again (well at least I hope so...I've had one successful attempt)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that map hanky...if you think it's too nice for nose blowing you could always frame it or make it into a cushion...
The blanket is gorgeous, but it would cost a bomb to post here and I've already got a few "grannies" so count me out this time...I'm sure it will find a lovely new home in no time x
So many good finds! I also use cloth hankies, but the theme on mine tends to be floral, which doesn't suit my boys at all - I'm sure they'd rather use geographical hankies!:)
ReplyDeleteHi Max, love the hankie. I like a good map myself and I'm obsessed with granny blankies too - love your stripey find.
ReplyDeleteAdore the paper lanterns you made in a previous post - even I could manage that, I think!
I'm so taken with your map hanky!! It's absolutely amazing!! :-)
ReplyDeleteJem xXx
Love the zigzag granny blanket, and the Map Hankie, I think you'll find it's a map of SHIKOKU and part of HONSHU and KYUSHU, Japan.
ReplyDeleteImagine using the map hanky to guide you to your destination, only to find you need to use if for it's intended purpose! just what is it that we all find so appealing about it, I want one. Now. My OH will know which country is depicted, he's a total geography nerd.
ReplyDeleteA map hankie! NEVER seen one of those for. Good luck in trying to work out where it shows! :-)
ReplyDeleteSpot on Lyndel!
