  1. Oh wow. What a great idea- a giveaway day, and well done to you for being a part of it.
One of the best handmade gifts I have received would have been a farm set given one Christmas as a child, handmade by both my mum and grandfather. It was a wooden board, with sheds and all. My sister and I spent hours playing with it. I hope to pass it on when I one day have children of my own.

  2. Great idea, I'll have to see if I can find anything to give away. But of course you would already be part of it, with your amazing blog and beautiful shiny hair. And did I mention how peachy your complexion has been looking recently? Ahem. Anyway, yes please to entering.

(PS. Little blue recipe house has become part of my festive decorating and is sat next to a powder blue enamel candlestick and some holly)

  5. You've already given me so many lovely things Max, so I won't enter this one, but the best home-made gift I can think of at the mo was a set of hand drawn snap cards an artist friend made for my daughter on her fourth or fifth birthday. We've still got them.

  6. The best homemade gift I have ever gotten were maternity pants from my in-laws. I was too cheap to buy them when I was pregnant so they went and bought some pants from express and turned them into maternity pants for me. That's LOVE ;) Great giveaway my dear, I also have one on my blog as well, would love for you to stop by. I am also following your blog!

  11. I don't think anyone else in my family really makes handmade gifts. Once my brother picked me out a reindeer necklace all by himself when he was about six. I still have it just because he was sooo proud of it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. My mom has made me a couple quilts in the past, those are always a favorite gift of mine.

  13. The best would be a navy cardigan with bright spots from my Gran. I think every cardigan should be as cool at this one. On the other hand the worst was an oversized mohair cardigan my Aunt had made for me and it could fit two people inside - I know, I tried. Of course it was made with love, however some of the measurements got transposed. I ended up giving it to a flat mate who was a little larger than me and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.

The quilt she gave me was one of the quilt tops that I had sent to her the year before. I make tops and send to her. She attaches batting and backs and gives to people she ministers to. I had hand cut out all of the hearts on the quilt from my mom's stash. She completed the quilt and then brought back to America and gave to me when she was home on leave this year. I was so surprised and pleased.

I asked a friend who I knew was good with scrap booking if he'd be willing to help my make some. Instead she made up all 40 of them in one weekend with a really neat waterfall feature on them. They were beautiful and I was so shocked she did them all by herself. :)
