I'm almost certain the bottom one is a tea leaf holder/strainer. I bought one very similar to this a while back from a vintage shop as a gift to my girlfriend for her birthday.
Very intrigued by them both! I'd imagine the second is some sort of tea leaf holder/stirrer? No idea on the first though - really gorgeous looking thing!
The second one could also be a sugar sprinkler. I have no clue what the first one is but how about a rolling pin inside part, then you could switch it to a different rolling pin surfaces, like wood or stone. I know... it does not sound very practical.
oooh, I'd go with ravioli maker for the first one, and the second one looks too big to be a leaf strainer and too small to be a bed warmer, but i'm flumoxed. Max, I sure hope you know the answers.
I know... the bottom one is an old fashioned bed warmer for your doll's house isn't it?!? Oh and by the way I've just given you a blog award. Hop over here for the details: http://craftandnappies.blogspot.co.nz/2012/05/confessions-of-slack-blogger.html
Mike tells me the first one is a ravioli maker ( ex chef )
ReplyDeleteThe second looks like a old bedwarmer. Is that a monkey on the end of the handle? Cute!
clever! i looked at it more closely and I'm now convinced its a gargoyle, but why?!!

ReplyDeleteNooooo, 'fraid not. It's bigger than the photo might make it seem, about the size of a teacup saucer!

DeleteSome kind of tea-strainer I think for the second one, and maybe the first is for putting a lattice pattern on pastry?
ReplyDeletepretty close there on the second one L x

DeleteA tea-maker on the right, and above, a rolling pin for a mouse's pastry-making.
ReplyDeletehee hee, I drink a lot of tea and it would be just about the right size of strainer for a litre of tea!
DeleteThey are....drum roll...a raviolli maker and a chestnut roaster!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow!! A chestnut roaster - how handy.
