Put on your red shoes and dance to the blues

in the haze of morning sickness blergy i failed to mention that i won Colour Me There's, Colour Me Happy rainbow theme craft challenge with my diy doll house craft room.  i got around to using my Kawaii Kids voucher last week, and quick as you like these cool-as Saltwater sandals arrived from Australia. they were a bit of a hit. claud tap danced in 'em around the kitchen singing "neeeew sandals, neeeeew sandals, red onnnnnnes, red onnnnnes" for ages. there is no better recommendation really.
as for me, i'm back at the lollysticks for a further installment of dollhousemania. i've been at it a year now you know *blushes*. i think it's true love.

happy long weekend kiwis x

do you love it when people use song title for posts? i do, especially when they do it in a pop-quiz serial fashion. i LOVE quizzes. do you?

  1. A deserving winner if ever there was one. Love the sandals on Claude, not me though - I think they'd make me look frumpy/matronly.
Now I've got that song stuck in my head, David Bowie, right? Thanks for that Max x

    1. birkenstocks are my geek shoe of choice, but the patent sunshine yellow saltwaters might just turn my head, and perhaps yours too, one could never look frumpy in yellow patent!

  2. Red shoes! My favourite - I had a shiny pair at that age. Anything's possible in red sandals, don't you know?
So pleased you won the challenge, who else could make what you have? Nobody, that's who!
STILL sicky? Surely it has to go away soon, gotta stuff your face and keep it down at some point!

  4. I so want a pair of Saltwater sandals, so a wee bit jealous of Claude!! I think I'd look more like a school girl wearing them than a matron like Kylie!! Now I can't get "little China girl" out of my head. David Bowie takes me back to my school days! You have a great long weekend too S:)

  6. That is the best dolls house craft room I have ever seen. Please can I move in? And red sandals, brilliant, a total style classic. I have been wearing my red birkies with my wine knee high knitted socks and leg warmers because I can't get my shoes on by I am tempted to continue my quest for true geekery.

    1. birkenstocks with knitted knee highs is pretty high up there in the geeky stakes. i think we'd have to go you a white sports socks with saltwaters to get ahead!!!

  8. Hi Max I thoroughly enjoyed your Blog. Such delightful pics and insights into your world. We share some common themes; Saltwater sandals (mine are orange), and sweet pea and snow pea tee-pees. I'm hoping to shape some garden structures from willow too. See you in Blog school, Megan

    1. ooh that sounds interesting-from live willow? i had all good intentions of making a willow tee pee this year but what with the morning sickness i missed the window of opportunity for getting the willow fronds at the right time. next year...

  9. Those red shoes rock! Can you still get red roman sandals? I love the way kids shoes can just make an outfit zip. At least, that is how I justify purple mckinlay boots for the kids.

  10. purple mckinlays? Nice! claud has just outgrown her first pair of Mckinlays (it's the only brand her dad will wear). but purple mckinlays. that would elevate them to a whole new level of cool...
