summary
severely lacking in the pink and orange department. overstocked in the brown or army green department. must seek more teal tea cups asap as these are my favourite. cake plates, dinner plates and bowls remain hard to come by in any colour. unclear as to what the 'official' colour glaze jugs shape(s) are. there are colour glaze espresso cups and saucers! unclear as to how one safely stores/stacks this many tea cups in a small cupboard space.
verdict.
overall excellent progress given refusal to pay more than a dollar per item (have you seen the prices people pay for this stuff on trademe?)
i like the slow-burn of collecting. a saucer one month. a cup the next. nothing for ages, then all of a sudden a rash of it. in time a bright and beautiful, practical and cheap, matching set.
ps do you like the new wall colour (replacing the mustard). it's resene waterloo. a darkish grey with a lavender base. its done wonders de-oranging all the wooden features and furniture in the dining room and i'm loving the dark, cosy-fying effect.

Great collection - everytime I see these I think of you!
ReplyDeleteLove your collection- the black and blue cups are particularly striking!
ReplyDeleteLiz @ Shortbread & Ginger
FAB!....the colours are great. Waterloo works!....flowers in a jug always my favourite x
ReplyDeleteLovely stash! I can see them at tea parties, crafternoons mixing the saucers with the cups and having a very pretty table! Linked up some opshopped clothes!
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with this collection
ReplyDeleteI don't own it but should
LOVE LOVE LOVE
ps: I'm after the pink blue yellow and green - baby pastels of course
I love the way you are committed to the slow collection and the new wall colour is rad x
ReplyDeletewow what a great collection! They look so good as a set. I seldom see any colour glaze up here, I've only ever found a couple of cups.
ReplyDeleteooo gorgeousness, loving the little jug of flowers. People are prepared to pay ALOT for these aren't they, bet it's much more satisfying and challenging to collect it at $1 a piece though : )
ReplyDeleteHi, glad to have found you via Louana at NZ green buttons. Love your jug of flowers - so gorgeous! Lisa x
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, that is a LOT of cups and saucers, Max! And there was me, thinking my collection of 10 pomanders was quite the thing... Ha! I am clearly a novice!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours, and the slow burn is always best. xxxx
Love your collection of Colour Glaze Crown Lynn, I have loads myself and they are just so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSuch a variety of amazing colors!!
ReplyDeleteThats an amazing collection, and wonderful that you have done it slowly and enjoyed every find :) Also linked up for the first time :)
ReplyDeleteI'm definately going to join in next time I have a great find. Fab idea! x
ReplyDeleteGood for you..go for the old slow burn...just not in labour! You must have been so chuffed when you saw it all together like that. Yes, love the teal too. Quite similar to the colour range in duraware (dubious name!) when I look at our picnic stuff.
ReplyDeleteOh you've made me happy - I LOVE these cups/saucers/etc and they are an impressive collection!! I like theat they're a theme, something you've found in bits a pieces, dribs and drabs... Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteOoh lovely china! I like the good old fashioned way of hunting stuff down for nothing rather than paying a lot on the internet. Funny that...
ReplyDeleteOoooh!! I nearly had heart failure when I saw your gorgeous collection of Crown Lynn!! I also collect Crown Lynn and just adore the colour glaze stuff. I have a few cups with saucers and plates, but nothing like your amazing collection! Where on earth do ou find them all? I keep looking whenever I do my op shop rounds (which, let's face it, is quite frequently!) but I never find colour glaze items on my searches. I do pick up loads of the pattern pieces, but colour glaze is much more difficult to find. I should really get all mine out and photograph it for cataloging purposes ;)
ReplyDeleteMmmm how did I miss this post?! Such awesomeness!!! Yes. one piece at a time is extremely satisfying, and then seeing a collection emerge= JOY and bliss!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your post back in 2011 (just read it after you linked up) where I commented saying "One of these days I'll do a linky thing on collections" LOL it's only taken me a couple of years!!!
That colour glaze looks AMAZING all together. Congrats on amassing such a great collection of it!
