INCOMING CME: A magnetic eruption on the sun during the early hours of March 15th hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) directly toward Earth. NOAA forecasters estimate a 70% chance of polar geomagnetic storms when the CME arrives on March 17th. High-latitude and possibly even middle-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras this weekend. Visit http://spaceweather.com for more information and updates.
Wishing you a cloud free weekend, literally and metaphorically x

Eeeee!! exciting - will keep an eye out, though it's overcast and raining at the moment which we're all really hoping will last!
ReplyDeleteMy friend Stephanie is at the Northern Lights, right this very minute. So exciting. x
ReplyDeleteWohoo! I will keep my eyes open, sky is very clear now, I can see stars. I have seen aurora couple of times. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Did you manage to see anything in the sky?
ReplyDeleteI would've loved to have seen it but of course of all the days of the year in Melbourne - it was raining and overcast. It would've saved me a very expensive trip to see the Northern Lights which is on my bucket list. x
